ROG Strix B550-A Gaming AM4 ATX Motherboard
Designed for use with CPUs using the AM4 socket, this board features the AMD B550 chipset. Install up to 128GB of dual-channel DDR4 RAM across four slots, with speeds up to 5100 MHz supported when overclocking. Storage drives can be installed using six SATA III connectors or two M.2 slots. Up to two graphics cards can be installed using PCIe 4.0 x16 and PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, with support for 2-way AMD CrossFireX. Other adapter cards can be installed in three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots.
A rear I/O panel sports a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C port, as well as four USB 3.2 Gen 1 and two USB 2.0 Type-A ports. Connect displays using the DisplayPort or HDMI outputs, or connect audio using a S/PDIF port or five 3.5mm jacks. An RJ45 port supports 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, while a BIOS flashback button is also present. The ASUS ROG Strix B550-A Gaming AM4 ATX Motherboard utilizes the SupremeFX S1220A audio codec and supports Windows 10 64-bit operating systems.
AMD B550 Chipset
This motherboard uses the AMD B550 chipset and is compatible with AMD CPUs using the AM4 socket.
PCIe 4.0-Ready
The ROG Strix B550-A Gaming features two M.2 slots, one of which supports the PCIe 4.0 standard to provide optimum storage and data speeds via the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen platform. Both M.2 slots support up to the type 22110 socket and NVM Express RAID for a performance boost.
ProCool Power Connector
The ProCool socket is built to ensure flush contact with the PSU powerlines, enabling lower impedance and efficient heat dissipation.
DIGI+ Power Control
ASUS DIGI+ Power Control allows you to tune VRAM and DRAM voltage for optimal system efficiency, stability, and performance.
Alloy Chokes and Capacitors
Alloy chokes and capacitors are designed to resist extreme temperatures.
Six-Layer PCB
This layered PCB dissipates heat around the VRM, improving overall system stability while providing overclocking headroom.
Intel 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet
Onboard 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet gives your wired connection a boost, with speeds that are 2.5 times faster than standard Ethernet connections for speedy file transfers, lag-free gaming, and high-res video streaming.
SupremeFX
Built-in ROG SupremeFX audio technology provides accurate audio and two front-panel op-amp outputs for gaming headsets.
Audio Cover
Effective shielding against electromagnetic interference preserves the integrity of audio signals for uncompromised sound quality.
Audio-Line Shielding
This shielding blocks electromagnetic interference from the motherboard or add-ons to provide cleaner audio.
Dual Op-Amps
Two onboard op-amps provide adequate power for headphone impedances from 32 to 600 ohms.
AI Noise-Canceling Microphone
AI noise-canceling microphone software on ROG Strix motherboards supports 3.5mm, USB, or Bluetooth headsets. Utilizing a deep-learning database, this utility preserves the sound of your voice while eliminating distracting keyboard clatter, mouse clicks, and other forms of environmental noise. And it only places a slight load on the CPU, ensuring minimal impact on gaming performance.
Sonic Studio III
Sonic Studio supports HRTF- or head-related transfer function-based virtual surround for VR headsets. The Sonic Studio interface also offers a range of EQ options and one-click presets, allowing you to tailor acoustics to suit personal preferences or the characteristics of your headset.
DTS: Sound Unbound
ROG Strix B550 series motherboards are pre-loaded with the DTS Sound Unbound app. By leveraging Windows Sonic spatial technology, DTS Sound Unbound delivers audio in a virtual 3D space. Requiring in-game support, this function allows users to choose between stereo, surround, or spatial sound according to personal tastes.
VRM Cooling
A MOS heatsink provides a large contact area for MOSFETs and chokes, while the thermal pad helps transfer heat from the inductor and phase array to the heatsink.
Pre-Mounted I/O Shield
The I/O shield is finished in matte black and comes pre-mounted to make it easy to install on the motherboard.
Q-LEDs
Four onboard LEDs indicate power status or potential problems with the CPU, memory, graphics card, or boot device, allowing for quick diagnosis.
SafeSlot
The reinforced ASUS SafeSlot is designed to provide h3 PCIe device retention and shearing resistance.
BIOS FlashBack
Users can place a BIOS file onto a FAT32-formatted USB drive and simply plug it into the USB BIOS FlashBack port and press a button to update the UEFI BIOS. Updates can be made even if memory or CPU aren’t present.
UEFI BIOS
Advanced Mode
